Welcome back to A Sea Turtle Picture A Day. Today we are heading back over to Hawaii. This is a picture of a Green Sea Turtle (Chelonia mydas) that has crawled out onto the beach to rest. Notice the time and depth recorder that is glued to its shell on the upper left side. This instrument is used to record the amount of time the turtle stays at depth and how deep it is.
This picture was taken with a Nikon D-100 camera with a 70-200 mm lens
